Thanks to your generous support, and a matching gift from CFW staff and members of our board, this #GivingTuesday CFW raised over $24,000 to increase our investments in women and girls in the Chicago region. The votes are in, and we are pleased to announce that the CFW community has selected Salt & Light Coalition to receive a special $12,000 #GivingTuesday grant to support healing and empowerment for survivors of sex trafficking through a year-long wellness and job training program. The challenges facing women and girls are generations in the making; achieving equity for all women and girls will take creativity, commitment and a willingness to test bold new strategies. As the frontline funder for women and girls in the Chicago region, CFW is here to identify innovative and promising solutions, and connect them with the resources they need to scale – today, tomorrow, until we are equal. To support this vision, CFW will also award increased grants of $3,000 to Communities United and ArtReach Chicago to support their innovative work improving the lives of women and girls in the Chicago region, and invest any remaining funds in innovative grantmaking to support women and girls before the end of this year. As new members of the CFW grantee community, all three organizations will have access to CFW’s leadership development and capacity building programs, at no cost to them. Thank you for joining us this #GivingTuesday to invest in women and girls, and your commitment to safe, just and healthy communities for all. With highest hopes, K. Sujata President/CEO Chicago Foundation for Women P.S. You can still help us reach our goal and increase our investments in innovative solutions for women and girls in 2018 by making a gift today.
