About "Sweet Tea"
The Lesbian Leadership Council is proud to present a special performance of the play "Sweet Tea: Black Gay Men of the South." The play features dynamic performer, author and educator E. Patrick Johnson seamlessly portraying interviewees from his recent publication on black, gay Southern life. Johnson's acclaimed book is an oral history of Southern black gay men ranging in age from 19 to 93 that explores the relationship between blackness, sexuality and

This theatrical adaptation is directed by Daniel Alexander Jones and co-produced by the Ellen Stone Belic Institute for the Study of Women and Gender in the Arts and Media at Columbia College Chicago, About Face Theatre (a Lavender Fund grantee) and Jane M. Saks--executive director of the Institute and co-chair of the Lesbian Leadership Council.
